Pierre Hardy x Alexandra Golovanoff: The Birth of the Alex Bag
"What would you be like if you were a bag?" The question, often asked to Alexandra, remained unanswered for a long time. To imagine this very first bag, she had to talk to Pierre.
From this conversation, an object designed by two voices was born — in a dialogue that was both instinctive and precise. A freehand conversation, between Alexandra's words and Pierre's sketches. One gives shape to a still-vague desire, the other breathes in concrete, almost daily uses.
WORK IN PROGRESS
From Pierre's first sketches to fittings with Alexandra, behind the scenes of the Alex bag.
Minimalist yet generous, architectural without rigidity, this bag is a subtle balance between structure and sensuality. Two calfskin leathers — one smooth, one grained — are worked back to back. Little metal, no ornament: everything lies in the cut, the material and the gesture.
Its colours? Three timeless essentials: black, burgundy, camel. Designed to follow moods and lives in motion, it adapts to every situation. Carried by hand, it elevates a casual outfit. With a canvas shoulder strap, it softens a more classic silhouette. And in cross-body mode, it becomes a travel companion.
